David D. Morrison is a retired branch line manager of the Long Island Rail Road, railroad historian, and current cochairman of the Oyster Bay Railroad Station Restoration Committee. A deeper look into the lesser known details of the Penn Station project, which encompassed the area from Manhattan Transfer, in New Jersey, to Sunnyside Yard , in Long Island City. Also includes the later addition of the Hell Gate bridge, to complete its connection to New England. Very informative.
Good coverage of subject matter. Better than average photo reproduction. Some photos have shown up in prior books, not bad overall, especially if you are from LIC or Astroria NY.
David did a great job on this book. I’m a retired Long Island RR conductor who was qualified in Sunnyside yard. So the photos in the book bring back fond memories of a job I truly loved.
